The Memorial Site Sachsenhausen

Today, the former concentration camp is a memorial site with several exhibitions. The tour to Sachsenhausen requires a trip to the memorial site - about an hour from Berlin - either by car or by public transport, which takes a bit longer. 

I am a certified guide at the site, with experience in guiding there since 2011. In addition to that, substatial parts of my PhD research dealt with tour guide interpretation of Sachsenhausen (as well as other dark chapters in Berlin's history). 

The tour at the memorial site itself takes about 2-3 hours. However, depending on your time constraints, in the trip to the Oranienburg I include further background, and there is always room for questions during and after the tour!
